If she sold her house where would she live? I can't imagine what she thought when she approached Elisha the prophet. How could he help? Prophets weren't known to be wealthy men. But, the man of God knew where to turn when the widow ran out.
When we read of such experiences we're inspired with renewed faith. We're given a fresh vision of God's love and compassion for those in great need. Rather than borrow the money or sell the house, why not ask the Lord first? Psalm 50:10 tells us that our Lord owns the cattle on a thousand hills. So consider Philippians 4:19 ... "And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." Notice, God will supply "according to his riches", not just according to our needs. He's the one to whom you can turn when you run out.
