"The Lord said to Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh and say, ‘Shall I indeed bear a child, now that I am old?’ Is anything too hard for the Lord? At the appointed time I will return to you, about this time next year, and Sarah shall have a son.”" - Genesis 18:13-14
The well known aphorism..."The difficult is that which can be done immediately; the impossible takes a little longer" is quoted or claimed by more sources than can be counted. The phrase carries both humor and optimism, but when we face the limits of creation, the impossible is impossible.
Sarah was both barren and well beyond child bearing years. The years had passed her by without the blessing of children. All hope was long gone to enjoy the pleasure of raising her own son. But wait... when we face the unlimited Creator, the impossible is always possible!
We are beginning a new year with new challenges ahead. Obstacles may come that seem insurmountable and impossible to overcome. Will you be overwhelmed by the hurdles or will you be an overcomer? The answer lies in ignoring the limits of the situation and trust your unlimited God. He alone makes the impossible possible.
