"These are the days of the years of Abraham’s life, 175 years. Abraham breathed his last and died in a good old age, an old man and full of years, and was gathered to his people." - Genesis 25:7-8
At my age, a full day of physical labor can be quite exhausting. My body clearly reminds me that I'm no longer 20 years old. Sometimes I will feel tired for a few days or more. But, at the end of the day, when the labor has been in the Lord's house, with the family of God, it's always a "good tired". That's the feeling that comes from finishing strong.
How sweet are the words before us today. Abraham "died in a good old age, an old man and full of years". His being "old" wasn't a negative term; when linked with "full" it became all "good". I imagine, that at the age of 175, Abraham was very tired. But, at the end of his life of labor for God, it was a "good tired". That's the feeling that comes from finishing strong.
When your day arrives my friend, how will you feel? Will you simply be old and tired? Or will you be full and tired? Will you look back over the years and be grateful for the labor accomplished for the kingdom of God? Will your weariness be a "good tired" that comes from finishing strong?
